Hope is a powerful thing. I daresay it's better than the real thing.
After all, the most you can ever expect from perfection is a fleeting moment.
And that's what you chase. You escapist.

Unrivaled in your enthusiasm, once you catch the scent you're unstoppable in your hunt.
But what happens when the cracks appear and reality seeps in?
You lose that ecstatic drive and boredom overtakes you when you realize the dream was just simply that, a dream.
You move onto the next hunt, the next fleeting high, ad infinitum.

Who needs responsibilities when you can skirt them and live day to day?
Who cares if you won't have anything to show for yourself other than a thousand fleeting lost experiences?
Live in the moment.
Say things you don't mean.
Be spontaneous.
Make promises you won't keep.
Enjoy yourself.

You were an inspiration. A fantastic sensation.
I'm glad I got to know you.
A month in someone elses shoes is invaluable.
Alas time is the great equaliser.
And my logic told me it was too good to be true.
See, people can say all sorts of things to get you excited.
The important thing to remember is that ones intentions aren't delineated by what they say, but what they do. Actions, not words, define the person.
And they defined you unreliable.

Reality crashed down like a sobering wave, drowning my indigence and replacing it with a bitter taste in my mouth. I hated you and now I hate myself. I'm glad my crisis was shortlived, shallow and tremendously limited. It let me reaffirm my faith and trust where it won't be disappointed.

I hope I'm wrong. But I know I won't be.
